We were so excited to participate in Akron Central School Career Day! We met with a group of students interested in education. Director Wynne Klingel gave a talk about the history of the Limerick School and early education in Erie County and the Town of Newstead. Wendy Trout of Trout Design also gave a presentation and led a hands-on activity on calligraphy and early writing.
Rummage Sale Time! We are now accepting donations for the rummage sale. Please call Pat Popielski at 716-542-4947 or email wmk@limerickschool.org to make arrangements for drop-off or pick-up.
The rummage sale will be held April 24 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and April 25 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We will have a food stand on Saturday featuring donuts and hot dogs. All money raised will support landscaping projects and programming at Limerick. Please no early sales.
Right around the corner is our Cultural Day on May 16 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, celebrating the 250th anniversary of America, with activities for all ages! The Buffalo Weaving Guild will be on hand doing demonstrations, and you can try your hand at weaving. Wendy Trout will offer calligraphy, Samiah will teach drawing, and there will be a craft table with help from volunteers from the Newstead Historical Society. Additional features include Anneliese Meck presenting 1876 fashion, visit with a local Colonial Reenactor – David Freeman, and schoolhouse tours. This is a free event, sponsored by Art Services Inc. and Friends of Limerick Inc.
