August Limerick Corner 2026
We have lots of exciting news! Some of it I can share now, while some of it will have to wait a little longer.
First, I want to say thank you to our community for supporting the Chicken BBQ that Friends of the Library and Friends of Limerick, Inc. held on the 4th of July. We not only sold out, but added 60 more dinners—and sold those, too! Thank you for your amazing support!
A special thank you to Pixley’s for selling tickets for us and to Herman Clouse Agency for their generous donation, which helped offset the cost of supplies.
Now for the Good News!
We have received a grant that will help us finish repairing the sidewalk along the side of the building and allow us to install an ADA-accessible ramp, making the building more accessible to everyone. This is especially important because it will make the art programming we offer to the community more accessible.
The grant also provides funding for a much-needed storage solution. Having additional storage will give us room to store our art supplies and equipment, allowing us to keep the schoolhouse more comfortable and functional for our programs. It will also allow us to set up the building as a one-room schoolhouse so children and visitors can experience what it was like to attend a schoolhouse in the 1800s.
We are planning a special Open House on October 9 at 1:00 PM to celebrate these improvements. More information will be coming soon!
This grant was made possible through the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
